What to Do When Your Weight Loss Stalls

I started my weight-loss journey in February, and while the scale has been unpredictable, the results so far are encouraging. I’ve lost 34 pounds, which feels remarkable given my age and health background and the level of exercise I’m able to do.

It’s the holiday season, and sticking to a strict eating plan isn’t always appealing. This year, though, feels different. I’ve found healthier versions of family favorites and plenty of on-plan options. The key for me is portion control, consistent exercise, and staying hydrated.

I’ve also almost entirely eliminated diet Mountain Dew from my routine, which feels like a small miracle. Before I changed my habits I was drinking more than a gallon a day. It’s startling to think how much of my body I used to fill with artificial ingredients, sodium, and carbonation. I still enjoy fizzy drinks, but now I opt for herbal teas and occasionally mix a little juice with sparkling water from my SodaStream.
